Career
This article may contain an excessive amount of intricate detail that may only interest a specific audience. (February 2009) |
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Raz B was a member and creator of the group B2K as a teen. The release of B2K’s album, Pandemonium!, and an accompanying tour & finished the year for him that concluded with the release of the group’s first feature film, You Got Served.
Distributed through his own production company, RazBeatz Entertainment, Raz released his first single, Fire in May 2007. Fire officially debuted on the Billboard charts (the week of 5/12/07) on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales charts debuting at #2 and also hitting the Billboard Hot Singles Sales charts at #2.[1] At the time there was literally no promotion behind the single as it debuted because Raz B was pushing this album on an independent level.
March 19, 2010 Raz B released his first mixtape entitled Boy 2 King. In 2011, Elayne Rivers, Raz B's longtime publicist announced that he would be going on tour in China. Throughout the tour Raz B has been performed shows in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Beijing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Kunming, Xian, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Dalian, and Shenyang, among others.
As of summer 2013, Raz B signed a record deal by a Dutch label Kameleon Music Group and had gotten back into the studio to work on a full studio album during breaks from his tour.
Coma
Raz-B is currently on life support in a hospital in China ... just one day after he was smashed in the face with a bottle at a nightclub, TMZ has learned. We spoke to Raz's publicist, Toy Jones, who tells us, "He is in a coma and needs as many prayers as possible."As we previously reported, the 28-year-old was performing at a club in China on Thursday and was smashed in the face with a glass bottle while trying to break up a fight that erupted in the crowd. Raz received medical attention hours after the incident --and underwent minor surgery to repair a gash in his lip. But the next day, sources close to Raz tell us he didn't wake up ... and Raz's backup dancer rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. We're told doctors tested for brain activity and determined the situation was dire. Sources say Raz is breathing from a ventilator ... and has been slipping in and out of consciousness.
